Our Story
Prior to starting By John Designs, Founder & Creative Director, Kaylee John, worked as an Art Director in the Cape Town film industry, which put her love of all things interior design to good use.
During the pandemic, with a lot of extra time on her hands, she started exploring other avenues to use her creative skills. Slowly, the idea to create eclectic homeware items was born.
By John Designs takes pride in designing and manufacturing all our products locally. It took us more than a year to bring our first range of products to life. Countless rounds of designing, reimagining, and refining went into it until we were completely satisfied. Our hope is to keep the good vibes going- one awesome homeware piece at a time and we look forward to having you along for the journey.
